About Us
About Us

The Women of Distinction (a.k.a.), "The Family" is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1996 by a group of close friends. The organization consists of African American professional women who are committed to providing a networking and social forum for women in a non-business type atmosphere.

What began as a collection of private social parties gained momentum and we redirected our focus to include more important issues facing our community. The overwhelming response created an open opportunity for us to focus on major issues and concerns at the same time providing a positive platform for women to interact and bring about social changes.
